If any failure related to the Digital Back (DB) is reported, the DB is connected to a camera body and test shots are made to confirm the problem.
Subsequently the DB is tested to check the functionality of the Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). Should any of these tests fail and this failure is isolated to the integrated Digital Signal Processing board (DSP), this part is exchanged.
After replacement of the defective part, the DB is checked again and upgraded with the latest firmware and hardware modifications (if applicable). The DB is then reassembled and a digital test program run to confirm its correct performance.
Finally the IR-filter is removed and the position of the CCD focus measured and adjusted. The CCD is then re-calibrated, cleaned, gasket mounted, and the back tested for dust or marks before return.
